Semler Scientific Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to 1,273 BTC, Valued at $114 Million
Semler Scientific (SMLR) has expanded its bitcoin (BTC) reserves, purchasing an additional 215 tokens for $17.7 million over the 10 days ending Nov. 15. With this latest acquisition, the medical equipment company now holds 1,273 BTC, worth approximately $114 million at the current market price of $90,000 per coin.
The average cost of the latest purchase was $82,502 per bitcoin, partially funded through proceeds from its at-the-market equity offering program. To date, Semler has raised $21.5 million through share sales, supporting its pivot to a bitcoin treasury strategy.
Since initiating its BTC holdings earlier this year, the company has spent $88.7 million to acquire its 1,273 bitcoin, achieving an average purchase price of $69,682 per BTC.
Semler has introduced “Bitcoin Yield” as a key performance indicator, measuring the value accretive to shareholders from its bitcoin purchases. “We are proud to report a Bitcoin Yield of 37.3% since adopting our bitcoin treasury strategy in Q2 of this year,” said Eric Semler, chairman of Semler Scientific. “This reflects our commitment to creating long-term value through strategic bitcoin investments.”
The announcement comes amid a wave of corporate bitcoin disclosures, with similar moves from Metaplanet, Marathon Digital, and MicroStrategy.
SMLR shares rose 2.4% in premarket trading on the news and are up 33% since the company began its bitcoin buying spree last summer.
